The photography of Gary Fields combines the traditions of portraiture, photojournalism, and landscape in representing the wide-ranging emotions of individuals in real-world environments, including zones of conflict. His main body of work focuses on Palestine with other work in Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan and the U.S. Venues for these photos include Photography Life, the La Jolla Art Association, the Cross Cultural Center Art Space at the University of California, San Diego, Balboa Park Houses of Pacific Relations, Radical History Review, the Journal of Palestine Studies, and the San Diego Union Tribune. Much of Gary Fields' photography derives from his work as an historical geographer at the University of California, San Diego.
